主讲人简介:

Dr. Chou received B.S. in Chemistry in 2005 from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from National Tsing Hua University in 2010. Dr. Chou worked as a postdoctoral researcher at National Tsing Hua University from 2010-2013, and subsequently joined the Interuniversity Microelectronic Center (IMEC), Belgium as a visiting researcher from Feb. 2013-May. 2013. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemical Engineering of Stanford University (Zhenan Bao Research group) from 2013-2016. He then joined the faculty of National Sun Yat-sen University from 2016-2017 where he was an assistant professor in Department of Chemistry. In 2017, he decided to relocate back to his alma mater National Tsing Hua University and was an Assistant Professor till now. His group focus on the design and synthesis of organic semiconducting materials for the applications in electronic skin and artificial photosynthesis.

报告摘要:

By mimicking natural photosynthesis, artificial photosynthesis using polymer photocatalysts for the visible-light-driven generation of hydrogen through the splitting of water is an almost ideal process for the conversion of abundant solar energy into useable fuel in an environmentally friendly and highenergy-density manner. In a search for efficient photocatalysts that mimic such a function, here we describe several series of newly designed polymer and polymer dots (Pdots) as photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution from water. The design of the molecular architectures, photophysical properties, proposed mechanisms, and applications will be included. This talk will give a clear design strategy of our polymer photocatalysts to understand the recent advances in this field.
